This role involves collection of functional requirements from system users and
preparation of business IT Quality Analyst: Role Overview
Primary Responsibilities
• Requirement Analysis: Understand and analyze project requirements and
technical specifications.
• Test Planning: Develop test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases.
• Testing Execution: Perform manual and/or automated testing.
Types of testing may include functional, regression, integration, performance,
and user acceptance testing.
• Defect Management:
Identify, log, and track bugs using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or Azure DevOps.
Work with developers to resolve defects.
• Documentation: Maintain clear records of test cases, results, issues, and
resolutions.
• Process Improvement: Suggest improvements to development and testing
processes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other
stakeholders.
Key Tools and Technologies
• Test Management: TestRail, Zephyr, qTest
• Bug Tracking: JIRA, Bugzilla, Azure DevOps
• Automation Tools (if applicable): Selenium, Postman, QTP/UFT, Cypress,
JMeter
• CI/CD: Jenkins, Git, GitHub/GitLab
• Scripting: Basic knowledge of scripting (Python, JavaScript, etc.) is a plus
Skills Required:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies
• Communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Basic understanding of databases and SQL
Certifications (Optional but Beneficial)
• ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board)
• Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA)
• Agile Testing Certification (e.g., from Scrum Alliance)
